Biography

Dr. Kai Kong Lee is a behavioural scientist and Postgraduate Lecturer in the Department of Psychology, University of Sunderland, UK. He holds doctoral training in behavioural science, a Master's background in psychology and neuroscience of mental health from King's College London, and postdoctoral research experience related to autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at Harvard Medical School. His academic and applied work focuses on ASD, child development, parent education, cognitive-behavioural intervention, AI-supported learning, and precision approaches for understanding children's innate learning profiles. In Hong Kong and the wider Asia region, Dr. Lee has led school- and family-facing initiatives that translate psychological science into practical support for SEN children, parents, educators, and community service providers. His work bridges clinical observation, behavioural science, neuroscience, digital tools, and family intervention, with a strong emphasis on early identification, individualized support, and measurable outcomes.

Topic

Precision ASD Intervention: Integrating Biochemical Rescue, Biometric Profiling and AI-Supported Behavioural Support

Abstract

Autism intervention is moving from generalized behavioural correction toward precision support that addresses the biological, cognitive, and family-contextual needs of each child. This keynote will present a translational framework for ASD intervention that integrates three components: biochemical rescue through targeted nutritional support, biometric profiling to identify innate learning and communication preferences, and individualized cognitive-behavioural strategies enhanced by AI-assisted practice. Drawing on a protocol involving children aged 3 to 11 and repeated CARS2-QPC assessments over baseline, 3-month, and 6-month time points, the speech will discuss how reduced folate and multivitamin support, tailored CBT, and communication-specific parent guidance may help reduce communication difficulty and improve engagement. The talk will also highlight the importance of early developmental windows, family implementation, ethical use of AI, and data-informed monitoring. The goal is not to replace professional clinical judgment, but to show how psychology and behavioural science can build more personalized, measurable, and compassionate intervention models for children with ASD.
